Former Super Eagles striker Victor Agali has criticized the administrative structure surrounding former players in Nigeria, claiming many ex-internationals are left to struggle without proper support.

Speaking on the issue, Agali expressed concern over what he described as a flawed and unfair system, where assistance often depends on personal or political connections.
“It shouldn’t be like this,” he said.
According to the former forward, many retired players face serious challenges after their careers, yet receive little to no institutional backing.
“Some are on their own,” he implied.
Agali argued that the current setup fails to recognize the contributions of those who represented the country, leaving them vulnerable once their playing days are over.
“They gave their best,” he noted.
He also highlighted what he sees as a troubling pattern, that support is often only extended to those with influence or strong ties within the system.
“It depends on who you know,” he added.
For Agali, this raises serious questions about fairness and responsibility within Nigerian football administration.
“It’s not right,” he stressed.
