Expressing satisfaction with the win, Olanrewaju revealed the team’s strategic approach, stating, “Yeah, it was a good win. You know we had a plan. We know that they are not going to survive us.

Truly if you play to our potential, I don’t think any team can survive us.” The coach emphasized the intensity displayed by the players, especially in disrupting Sporting Lagos’ build-up play and closing down key figures like Jonathan, the opposing team’s number eleven.
Highlighting Enyimba’s defensive prowess in the first half, Olanrewaju noted, “We squeezed them. And that’s what I asked the boys to do. They played to instruction.”
The coach acknowledged the team’s improvement but suggested that they could have sealed the game in the first half.
Despite injuries sidelining key players, including the highest goal scorer, Boma, Olanrewaju praised the young talents stepping up, emphasizing the significance of securing the win.
Addressing the tactical changes made in the second half, Olanrewaju explained, “As I said, I know this team like the back of my hand and I know what every player can give to the team so making that substitutions is easier because I already had a game plan.”
He further elaborated on the decision to bring in Chibike for increased midfield intensity, a move that solidified their control over the game.
