Enyimba get triple injury boost ahead of Oriental Derby

Enyimba of Aba will welcome back three injured players to their squad ahead of this weekend’s top of the table Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash with Enugu Rangers​.

 

The three players namely: Joseph Osadiaye, Andrew Abalogu and Nasiru Sani were injured in Enyimba’s goalless draw away at last season pronounced champions Lobi Stars.

The trio have resumed light training with the Peoples Elephant and face the race to be fit for the Oriental Derby this weekend.

“We have no fresh injury worries, the players that got injured in the game against Lobi Stars have resumed light training and we hope they can be fit in time for Sunday’s crunch game,” an official source of the Aba-based side told Goal.

Enyimba are heading into the final six league matches of the season, as well as the Aiteo Cup, and need as many fit bodies as possible to play their part.

After surrendering their unbeaten run to Bendel Insurance in mid-week, Gbenga Ogunbote’s side return to winning ways, as they lifted the Enugu State FA Cup, while Enyimba were also victorious in their own State FA Cup.

Although, there are no new injury concern for coach Usman Abd’Allah ahead of the derby, strikers Stephen Chukwude and Emeka Obioma are still not available for action.

Rangers lead the NPFL Group A with 31 points from 15 games while Enyimba are second on the log with 25 points from 16 games.
