Elizabeth Balogun Brings More International Experience To Toronto Tempo – Eli Horrowitz

Nigerian female basketball national team, D’Tigress’ forward, Elizabeth Balogun has been tagged a global star who brings more international experience into Canadian outfit, Toronto Tempo, Sports247 reports.

Balogun joins the new expansion outfit in USA’s Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) for their first campaign in the American topflight, with high expectations that she will justify her training camp contract.

Expectations in that direction were served by The Tempo’s assistant general manager, Eli Horrowitz, who admitted that Balogun is one of the stars already being counted on by Canada’s first club to compete in the WNBA.

Balogun, who previously competed professionally overseas and is a regular member of Nigeria’s women’s national team joins the Toronto-based outfit alongside five other recruits, with high-level international exposure to flaunt.

Expectations are high that Balogun, a versatile wing and forward, will bring in a lot athleticism, toughness and familiarity to the team that recently signed Nigerian former basketball star, Masai Ujiri as a part-owner.

Balogun moves to Toronto alongside forward Maria Conde, centre Nina Milic, guard Lexi Held, guard Kitija Laksa and guard Kristy Wallace, who were all selected during the expansion draft.

Tempo’s assistant general manager, Eli Horrowitz said: “The Nigerian has experience playing as a wing or forward and brings even more international experience to the W’s first global squad.”
