Edo Queens FC head coach Kennedy Boboye has declared that his side are determined to complete their 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League campaign with victory when they face Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC in the final on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Sports247 reports that the highly anticipated final is scheduled to kick off at 8:00pm, with Edo Queens aiming to avenge their narrow defeat to the Ghanaian champions during the group stage and secure the coveted continental ticket.

Boboye acknowledged the quality of their opponents but insisted that his players are ready for the challenge, stressing that the ultimate objective is to take the trophy back to Nigeria.

Edo Queens narrowly lost their previous encounter with Ampem Darkoa during the group stage, but Boboye believes the experience has provided his team with valuable lessons ahead of the decisive contest.
“We narrowly lost the last group game to Ampem Darkoa. We will work,” the coach said, expressing confidence that his players can produce a different result in the final.
The Edo Queens coach also pointed to the playing conditions in their previous meeting, arguing that the narrow pitch affected his team’s performance. With the final expected to be played on a wider pitch, Boboye believes the change could give his side a better opportunity to impose their style.
“Definitely, the last game was lost to the narrow pitch, and in a wider pitch, we will know who is the best,” he stated.
Despite the magnitude of the occasion, Boboye said there would be no unnecessary pressure on his players. According to him, the squad has been adequately prepared and understands the significance of earning qualification for the main tournament.
“The girls are prepared and there is no pressure on them. They have the mindset to play in the main tournament and they will work towards that.”
With the final now upon them, Boboye expects a competitive encounter and confirmed that the team’s starting lineup will be unveiled at the stadium.
“It’s a final, and we are approaching the game in the same mindset as usual. This is our time and we will take our chances to claim victory.”
Edo Queens will therefore enter Saturday’s showdown with revenge, continental qualification and the trophy all firmly in their sights.
