Edo Queens Nasarawa Amazons FC Renew Rivalry, As NWFL 2022/23 Season Kicks Off

The much anticipated 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League season kicks off on 30th November, 2022 at the various designated centers across the country with mouthwatering fixtures lined up – amongst which is Edo Queens’ visit to Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia.

Edo Queens Football Club of Benin City gets their first away game underway as they trade tackles with Nasarawa Amazons Wednesday 30th November at the Apa Aku Stadium, Makurdi Benue State with the age-long rivalry between the two sides in the most glamorous Women’s Football League in Africa set to be rekindled once again.

Edo Queens going into this game has gone through a lot of preparations going into the new season as such, the Benin-based girls are expected to leave nothing to chance in ensuring a successful league season.

The Moses Aduku led Edo Queens hope to make a statement against the Solid babes as they are considered one of the league’s favorites.

Having failed to lift the just concluded Sheroes Cup pre-season tournament, the team will be keen to remedy that blip in their league history and put the disappointment of the past behind them as they roll out their campaign to possibly lift the coveted league trophy for the first time.

The ‘Heartbeat Girls’ under the tutelage of Moses Aduku will be no pushover following their exploit in two major pre-season tournaments held this year. There is no doubt that the girls have embraced the spirit of professionalism to keep the Edo Queens’ flag flying.

With so much preparation for the new season, one important thing is that the Godwin Obaseki/ Philip Shaibu trophy-hungry-looking ladies are determined to pull an incredible upset in the NWFL in this new premiership season.

For the team’s general coordinator, Mrs. Sabina Chikere, kudos must go to her for her total commitment and selfless service to the club. She has proved beyond reasonable doubt that what a man can do, a woman can do even better. Little wondered why the State Sports Commission Chairman Mr. Yusuf Alli described her recently as a dynamic woman with a difference which by interpretation implies that achievements and successes recorded by Edo Queens today can not be said to be complete without her name being mentioned.

For the entire players, coaches, backroom staff, and fans, it is the beginning of a new era, the beginning of a new season, the beginning of a new vision, the beginning of new dreams, aspirations, unimaginable breakthroughs, and unending successes.
