Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini featured for Paris Saint-Germain Women as they played out a 1-1 away draw against Eintracht Frankfurt Women in the third round of UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying.
Sports247 reports that Echegini was included in the Parisian side as PSG began their two-legged qualifying tie with a hard-fought draw in Germany. The result leaves the French side with everything to play for ahead of the decisive second leg.
Eintracht Frankfurt made a fast start, taking the lead in the fourth minute through Larissa Michelle Mühlhaus. The early goal gave the hosts an advantage, but PSG responded almost immediately.
France international forward Naomie Feller restored parity just three minutes later, finding the equaliser in the seventh minute to bring PSG back into the contest.
Neither side could find a second goal thereafter, with the encounter ending 1-1 after a competitive battle between two teams seeking a place in the next stage of Europe’s premier women’s club competition.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade was not included in PSG Women’s squad for the first-leg encounter. Her absence means Nigerian attention will now turn to the return fixture and whether she will be available to strengthen the French side.
