Eagles Update: Pule Reveals Burning Zeal To Floor Super Eagles

Orlando Pirates of South Africa dazzler, Vincent Pule has declared that he is beaming with desire and zeal to help his country beat Nigeria in Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Heading into the match at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, sports247.ng can report that Pule has assured that his focus is turned fully towards the national team as they prepare to take on the Super Eagles.

Pule is among 23 players tasked with seeing Bafana Bafana through to victory in their penultimate 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on home soil, and he says they will not let The Rainbow Nation down.

The in-form Pirates winger has been included for a third time, albeit his last call-up was disrupted by injury, as he looks to earn just the second senior international cap of his career.

Pule made his debut in the goalless draw at home to Libya in Durban in September, and it is not yet known what sort of role he will play against the Super Eagles.

However, his pace and skill out wide could ease the injury-enforced absence of Keagan Dolly, while his set-piece delivery may also prove an asset for Baxter’s charges.

The 26-year-old has been impressive this season, managing five goals and three assists in 14 club appearances across all competitions.

The former Bidvest Wits attacker admits it is time for him to try and replicate his abilities under the current coach, Stuart Baxter.

Pule insisted his attention is solely on helping Bafana claim the three points needed to book their spot in Cameroon next year.

He added: “Nothing else matters but victory on Saturday. We look forward to the tough match against Nigeria.

“Unlike the Seychelles, who were a closed book, Nigeria are the complete opposite of this. We know what to expect; this is a team that possesses a lot of quality.

“We have been working hard at training. I would say that the mood is fine and we are fully focused on the task that lies ahead.”
