Eagles Must Do Without Ighalo – Bosso

Veteran coach in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Isah Ladan Bosso has charged the Super Eagles to ensure they do not allow the absence of Odion Jude Ighalo affect them in next weekends’ match against South Africa, sports247.ng reports.

Bosso, who is a former handler of Nigeria’s under-20 national team, Flying Eagles, admitted that Ighalo’s absence due to injury is a setback to the team, but stressed that he should not be missed when there are other players to fill in.

The former Enyimba, FC Ifeanyiubah, El-Kanemi and Nasarwa United hanldler said the Eagles know what is at stake in next Saturday’s match, hence his verdict that they should not allow Ighalo’s absence disturb them from getting the desired result in Johannesburg.

Bosso acknowledged: “It is painful when you lose your top scorer to injury ahead of an important match but as a coach, there are other options you can make use of to get the needed result.

“The team will not miss Ighalo much because there are other strikers in the team who want to stake a claim that they can do the job; this is the opportunity they have been waiting for.

“It is all to the benefit of the team. The Eagles are well-motivated than the South Africans. The Eagles know that they only need a point to qualify and also protect their pride against the South Africans – that is the motivation needed for them to win the game.”
