Dynamic Deserved To Win Manufacturer’s Cup Says Owadokun

Head Coach of Dynamic Football Club of Mushin, Oluwasesan Owadokun has boasted that his team deserved to be crowned as champions of Manufacturer’s Cup

Dynamic defeated De Golden Heritage Football Club 4-3 on penalty shootout after barren draw at the regulation time in the final of Manufacturer’s Cup which was held at Alade Sports Complex, Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos.

The annual competition was packaged by Ikeja Divisional Football Association under the leadership of Taiwo Alagbe Rafiu popularly known as Alhaji Mokan.

Owadokun who gave thanks to God for the victory told journalists that his players were determined in all their matches which paved way for them in the final. He said his team proved bookmakers wrong boasted that his team deserved to win the competition.

“ We came to the tournament with expectation. Our expectation is to win the competition which we did. If anybody said we were not favorable, that is their own view. All I can say is that we came to the tournament with determination and I am happy that we were able to prove the bookmakers wrong by winning the cup,” he said.

In his own submission, De Golden Heritage coach, Seyi Gbenro said they lost to their opponents as a result of some key players who were absent in the game. He congratulated Dynamic for their hard-fought victory and promised to do well in the next edition.

Chairman Ikeja Divisional Football Association, Taiwo expressed gratitude to God for the success of the competition. He noted that this year’s edition lived up to expectations in terms of officiating, organization, and standard of play by the participating teams.

“I must confess that this year’s Manufacturer’s Cup lived up to expectations because we have raised the bar in all ramifications. The champions have emerged and I am happy that no players or officials sustained minor or major injury throughout the competition,” he said.

At the award presentation, Owosen Fatai of Dynamic won the Highest Goal Scorer award with seven goals, while Akolade Habeeb Akolade from De Golden Heritage won the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

A sum of N150,000 was given to champions with a giant trophy, while the first runner-up smile home with the sum of N100,000.
