Dreamland, New Generation Set Up Blockbuster Final in Abia State U19 Cup

The stage is set for a thrilling finale at the 2025 Dreamland–Abia State U19 Cup as tournament hosts Dreamland Football Academy and in-form New Generation booked their places in the championship match following two contrasting semi-final victories at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

Dreamland were the first to punch their ticket to the final, surviving a tense 1–1 draw before defeating Enyimba U19 in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Despite conceding a late equaliser, the hosts held their nerve in the decider—thanks largely to their heroic goalkeeper, who delivered one of the standout performances of the tournament.

He saved three of Enyimba’s four spot kicks, while the fourth rattled the upright, ensuring Enyimba failed to convert a single penalty. Dreamland scored twice to clinch a commanding 2–0 shootout win.

The second semi-final produced a goal-laden spectacle as New Generation came from behind to overpower previously unbeaten Uchecharia 4–2.

Uchecharia, who had sailed through the group stage without conceding, drew first blood and looked poised to maintain their defensive record.

But New Generation erupted in the second half, netting a quick brace to seize control before adding a third.

Although Uchecharia fought back to make it 3–2, New Generation extinguished their hopes with a fourth goal that sealed a dominant display.

With both teams now in top form, attention shifts to a captivating final: Dreamland’s well-structured, defensively reliable outfit against New Generation’s explosive, attack-minded side.

Fans can expect a high-stakes showdown between two teams with contrasting strengths but equal ambition to lift the coveted U19 crown.
