Doma United kicked off their new campaign with a determined 1–0 victory over Kada Warriors on Saturday evening at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, delighting their home supporters with a resilient performance and a late breakthrough.
Backed by a vibrant crowd, the Savannah Tigers dominated proceedings from the onset, creating multiple attacking chances. Despite their early pressure, Kada Warriors’ goalkeeper stood firm, making several key saves to keep the scoreline goalless in the first half.

The second half delivered even more intensity as Doma United pushed forward in search of the opener. The match produced a moment of controversy when Sinbad Adams fired a powerful free-kick that struck the inside of the post and bounced out.
After consulting his assistant referee, the center referee ruled that the ball had not completely crossed the goal line — a decision accepted by Doma players and fans, who kept urging the team on.
Doma United’s persistence eventually paid off. With the Warriors’ defence finally stretched, Muhammad Bashir Abubakar, popularly known as Ramadan, found the decisive goal, sending the Pantami Stadium into celebrations.
The victory hands Doma United a confident start to their league season as they prepare for a tough away fixture next week in Jos, where they will face Mighty Jets in their second match of the campaign.
