Dimeji Lawal, Edith Agoye Team Up With Grass Runners FC In Nationwide League One (NLO)

Two former youth internationals, Dimeji Lawal and Edith Agoye have teamed up as officials with fast-rising Grass Runners FC of Sagamu in Nigeria’s third-tier Nationwide League One (NLO).

Sports247 gathered that the presence of Lawal as team manager and Agoye as sporting director is boosting the club owned by Mr Gbenga Agbejoye to pull off many exploits after just over two years after its inception in March 2024.

Two other former Flying Eagles invitees from the 2005 set of John Mikel Obi, Taye Ismaila Taiwo and Chinedu Obasi are also part of Grass Runners’ technical crew, as Daniel Itodo is the head coach and Emmanuel Fabiyi goalkeepers’ trainer.

Sports247 gathered further that the youthful club, which has Pere Brownsford from Bayelsa State as operations manager, has produced many talented lads and they recently transfered two players to TSG Hoffenheim of Germany.

The duo of top striker Benjamin Precious and centre back Emmanuel Chukwu are already rising through the youth ranks at ‘The Village Club,’ with great expectations of breaking into the main team pretty soon.

Their success is also seen as a major source of inspiration for all players they left behind in the squad who are top of the NLO with just two games to go and equally leading the way in the N-Youth League (South-West Conference).
