The Asaba-based side confirmed that Francis takes over from Samaila Marwa (Keshi), who began the current campaign but was relieved of his duties by the Delta State Sports Commission due to conduct-related issues.

Osazee Francis brings extensive experience in women’s football, having previously led Edo Queens during the 2020/21 NWFL Premiership Super Six in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, where he earned a reputation for tactical discipline and strong player development.

Delta Queens currently occupy fifth place in Group B, having secured 10 points from seven matches. The club will be hoping that the coaching change injects fresh momentum as the league resumes on February 18, 2026.

The team last lifted the NWFL title at the end of the 2022/23 season under Tosan Blankson, now head coach of Rivers Angels.

With Francis at the helm, Delta Queens are targeting a strong second half of the season as they aim to climb the table and reassert themselves among Nigeria’s elite women’s teams.
