Dannaz Ladies Gears Up for NWFL Showdown Against Naija Ratels: Coach Fatai Confident, ‘We Need to Go and Play Our Best’

In an exclusive interview with Sports247, Dannaz Ladies head coach, Bashiru Fatai, shared insights into the team’s preparation for their impending clash against Naija Ratels in the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL), Sports247 reports.

Reflecting on the interrupted schedule due to a two-week break, Coach Fatai emphasized the significance of the extended preparation period. “We were supposed to play Naija Ratels before the league went on a two-week break, which we’ve been preparing for,” he stated. Expressing optimism, he added, “It’s an advantage for our teams as well to do more than what they have before.”

Recalling their previous encounter where Dannaz Ladies emerged victorious, Coach Fatai acknowledged the challenge awaiting them on Naija Ratels’ home ground in Abuja. “Our game against Naija Ratels at home in Onikan Stadium… we surprised a lot of people,” he remarked. However, he remained realistic about the upcoming fixture, admitting, “Going to their home ground… is not going to be an easy game for us.”

Amidst the break, Coach Fatai affirmed the team’s readiness, highlighting the players’ dedication and improvement in training sessions. “The girls are doing well… they always improve in every training day,” he remarked confidently.

Addressing potential changes and surprises in the lineup, Coach Fatai acknowledged the unpredictable nature of football. “Football is a funny game.
