As anticipation builds for the 2025 President Federation Cup final, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Nasarawa State, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has thrown his weight behind Kwara United FC, urging unity and regional pride among North Central stakeholders.
Danladi made this passionate call during a special reception organized in his honour by his longtime friend and Director of Football at ABS FC, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, in Ilorin.

The visit, which coincided with his participation in a high-level Roundtable Engagement of Attorneys-General of North Central States under the Institute for Corporate and Public Sector Law (ICPCL), provided a timely platform to galvanize support for the region’s representatives in Nigeria’s oldest football competition.
With Kwara United set to make their first-ever appearance in the Federation Cup final against Abakaliki FC on Saturday, June 28, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, Danladi expressed unwavering confidence in the team’s ability to deliver a historic victory.
> “By the special grace of God, come June 28th, Kwara United will lift the trophy — not just for Kwara, but for the entire North Central,” he declared to a gathering of sports stakeholders.
Danladi also backed Nasarawa Amazons to clinch the women’s title, envisioning a clean sweep for the North Central zone — a feat that would underscore the region’s rising prominence in Nigerian football.
The former Chairman of Nasarawa United took time to commend the atmosphere of solidarity he witnessed among sports administrators in Kwara, describing it as a model for regional cooperation.
> “Seeing all former Kwara United chairmen seated together with the current management and ABS FC officials is a testament to true unity,” he said. “That’s the kind of harmony we need to drive sports and governance forward in the region.”
He further linked the football momentum to the political synergy between North Central states, citing the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa as Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum as a source of inspiration.
> “Their unity should serve as an example for us all,” he noted. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
In an emotionally charged closing remark, Danladi pledged continued service to the people and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming goodwill he received from the Kwara sports community.
> “Every position I have held is for all of you,” he said, fighting back tears. “Anyone here can call me, and I will always respond. That’s a promise I intend to keep.”
The reception, held at the HenryGeorge Hotel in Ilorin, attracted prominent sports figures and administrators including Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka and his wife, Malam Tunde Kazeem (former Director of Sports), Barr. Bamidele Aluko, Prince Oladimeji Thompson, Malam Bashir Badawiy, and Hajia Segilola Alaya among others.
As Kwara United and Nasarawa Amazons gear up for their respective finals, the North Central zone stands united behind them, buoyed by renewed energy, pride, and leadership that transcends the pitch.
