Nigerian-born heavyweight boxer, Daniel Dubois gave thanks to God late Saturday, after he pulled off a stunning 11th round knock of fellow-British pugilist, Fabio Wardley to become a two-time world champion.
Sports247 reports that the former International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt holder took home the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) title with his latest victory, which came after a grueling clash with Wardley in Manchester.

It looked like it was going to be a short night as Dubois was floored for the first time after just 10 seconds at the Co-op Live Arena, then went down again soon after as Wardley dominated the opening three rounds.
However, the 28-year-old boxer with a Nigerian mother and father from Granada got back up to overwhelm the bloodied and battered Wardley, who was stopped on his feet, in a magnificent show of bravery from both warriors.
Wardley suffered gruesome eye and nose injuries as blood poured down his face during a truly incredible heavyweight title showdown, which will go down in the boxing record books as one of the best fights of all time.
Dubois tagged it ‘a war’ with Wardley, who was unbeaten going into the fight, but took some heavy shots to the face and his nose was split open, yet he refused to give up and fought on gamely before he was finally stopped in the 11th.
“Thank you, Fabio, for that. I know I’ve got heart, I’m a warrior in there. I had to get back up and come back harder. Thank God for this victory. I had to use all my skills. I’m No. 1 again. It was an honour to be in the ring with him,” said Dubois.
