Crown FC have commenced preparations in earnest for the much-anticipated Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 promotion play-offs, holding at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.
Just a day before the tournament kicks off, the Ajilete Warriors held their first training session on Friday morning, signaling their readiness for the battle to secure a slot in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The session, which kicked off promptly at 7:45 a.m., featured all 26 players in the team’s travelling contingent, including three goalkeepers.
Led by team captain Ugochukwu Anozie, the squad showed high energy and cohesion throughout the 90-minute session.
Goalkeeper trainer, Adeniyi Adejare, took charge of the trio of Oladeji Joshua, Abayomi Sultan Mubarak, and Moradeyo Oyelami, while head coach Alexander Ayodeji Ayeni and his assistants focused on tactical drills with the outfield players.
The club’s leadership, including Chairman Olamide Ilupeju, was also on ground to observe and support the team, demonstrating the management’s full backing ahead of the crucial competition.
Meanwhile, the NNL has confirmed that the official draw for the Super 8 will be conducted today, with representatives of all participating clubs expected to attend. The draw will determine the matchups for the round-robin tournament which begins on Saturday, July 5.
Crown FC, who impressed during the regular season, are aiming to return to the elite division of Nigerian football and their early arrival and swift transition into full training shows their intent.
Fans of the club and neutrals alike will be watching closely as the Ogbomosho-based side look to translate their early preparation into on-field success.
