As the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoff reaches a decisive stage, Warri Wolves coach Napoleon Aluma has sounded a confident tone ahead of their must-win clash against Crown FC on Thursday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
Aluma, who has guided the Seasiders through a tough campaign, believes his team is battle-ready and mentally focused to claim one of the coveted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) slots for the 2025/2026 season.

“Crown FC are no pushovers, they’ve done well to get to this stage, but we’re aware of what’s at stake,” Aluma stated. “The boys are fired up. We know what a win means, and we’re going all out for it.”
Warri Wolves, one of the most recognized names in Nigerian football, are aiming to return to the NPFL after seasons of inconsistency. Thursday’s encounter is seen as a pivotal moment in their campaign to reclaim top-flight status.
A victory will seal their place among Nigeria’s elite clubs once again — a significant achievement that the Warri-based side has been striving for under Aluma’s leadership.
Meanwhile, in the other Group B fixture, Osun United will lock horns with Kun Khalifat at the Delta State Polytechnic Stadium in Ozoro by 11:30 a.m. That game also carries weight, as the playoff standings remain tight with promotion spots still open.
With the stakes sky-high and emotions running deep, Thursday promises fireworks as teams jostle for a place in the NPFL next season.
