CNS Spikers Do Not Belong In The Div 1 Says Sani Mohammed

Head coach, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers VC, Sani Mohammed said his team does not belong to the National Division 1 League; rather Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.

CNS Spikers pummeled Kwara United VC 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-9) in their first match at the ongoing 2023 National Division 1 League in Owerri, Imo State on Tuesday.

The National U21 coach, Sani Mohammed told newsmen that CNS spikers possess players who can take on any team in the country’s elite league.

The former African Best setter said the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo CFR has created an enabling environment for the team to thrive.

He said, “I want to state categorically that CNS Spikers doesn’t belong to the National Division 1 League. As you can see from the scoreline against Kwara, CNS Spikers mean business in the volleyball league.

“We are currently one of the most exposed volleyball teams in the country, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo CFR has been able to change the face of volleyball in the service.

“My mission in Owerri is simple; it is to win the National Division 1 League and qualify for the Premier League. The players are hungry to taste topflight volleyball because they have the African Club Championships twice in a row.”

The former National Setter heaped praises on the coordinator of CNS Spikers volleyball teams, Commodore Aliyu Pindar for bringing his wealth of experience into the team and repositioning the volleyball teams through the support of the Chief of Naval Staff.
