Chukwu Tips Flying Eagles To Beat Niger Republic

Former national team captain and coach, ‘Chairman’ Christian Chukwu has tipped the youth national squad, Flying Eagles to beat Niger Republic in Friday’s third group match at the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations and qualify for the semi-finals.

Although the Flying Eagles will line out against the host nation on the back of a dull show in their goalless draw with South Africa on Tuesday, Chukwu believes Coach Paul Osahon Aigbogun’s side have already shown tremendous qualities of champions.

Sports247.ng can report that Chukwu is even rating the current under-20 squad as one that has a lot of players that will make it into the senior national team, Super Eagles, and added that they will prove him right by qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Chukwu stated ahead of Friday’s decisive last match of Group A in Niamey that Aigbogun’s wards have already displayed qualities that make them potential Eagles regulars in future.

The former coach of Kenya’s national team, Harambee Stars, then urged Aigbogun to reel out attacking tactics for the lads in Friday’s game and urged the players to ensure the convert every chance that they get.

Chukwu stated: “The Flying Eagles I see playing in Niger Republic are good as future Super Eagles. What the coach needs to work on now very seriously is finishing.”
