Children’s Day Celebrated In Grand Style With Life Chess Club Sequence 23

Children have often been described as young and carefree creatures; and with their innocent smiles, they steal the hearts of many. In respect of these beautiful creatures, in Nigeria, the 27th of May every year is a special day set aside to celebrate children all over their country.

However, in Benin City, Edo State, it was beyond a celebration as a strategic and career-building tournament organized by the Life And Chess Club in conjunction with Swallow of the Sky Academy took Children’s day celebration to another level with a two-day tournament tagged “Chess Sequence 23.” The tournament saw six arbiters on the ground to monitor 60 participants as young as four years who competed for honors in different categories with their peers. Categories such as Under-5, Under-10, Under-14, and Under-16. Ladies and Opens Category slugged it out within 90 minutes in five Swiss rounds.

The ratings of every participant as well as results were duly uploaded on the internet at chess-results.com to avoid data loss and ensure records are properly retained for future references. Winners of various categories were awarded cash prizes, and winners’ medals and certificates of participation were presented to every participant.
