Chikwelu promises best outing against Cameroon

Super Falcons midfielder, Rita Chikwelu says she’s so happy to score her first goal of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).

Speaking after their training session in Accra on Sunday, the midfield maestro said the semi final game against Cameroon won’t be an easy one.

“I’m so happy I scored my first goal in the 2018 AWCON,” she said.

“Against Cameroon, it will not be easy considering the last final, but we will give our best to ensure we make it to the final in the current edition.”

Chikwelu who got a goal and assist in the last game against Equatorial Guinea showered praises to the Nigeria Football Federation for keeping to their words as bonuses are paid on time and this spurred them in giving their all for the team.

“You can see that in the 2nd and 3rd game, the girls were happy for what the NFF had done. Before our 2nd game we got all our entitlements and they gave us the support we needed.”

Furthermore, she called for more support from fans, prayers from loved ones to push them to the final and win the trophy.

“My message to Nigerians, is for them to put us in prayers, keep supporting us, also fans from Cape Coast and Accra, as we will not let you down.”
