Okwuchukwu arrived in San Diego with high expectations, but her time with the Wave was unfortunately disrupted by injury.

The talented forward was limited to just two appearances, during which she still managed to find the back of the net once—offering a glimpse of her quality and potential despite her limited minutes on the pitch.

In a farewell message, San Diego Wave expressed appreciation for the player’s professionalism and resilience, wishing her well as she moves on to the next chapter of her career.

The 19-year-old, regarded as one of Nigeria’s most promising young attackers, will now focus on recovery and rebuilding after a challenging season. Her departure closes a chapter that promised much but was ultimately shaped by setbacks beyond her control.

As she steps away from San Diego, attention turns to what lies ahead for Okwuchukwu, with many hopeful that a full recovery will allow her to rediscover the form that made her one of the most exciting young prospects in Nigerian women’s football.
