Can Flamingos Beat Brazil On Wednesday In Women’s U17 World Cup Semi-final, After 1-0 Win Over Venezuela?

Nigeria’s female cadet national team, Flamingos will tango Brazil this Wednesday in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup in Morocco, Sports247 reports.

This is sequel to an 89th minute lone goal from the Nigerian captain, Azeezat Oduntan through a penalty kick that gave Coach Akeem Busari’s team a 1-0 win over Venezuela in Sunday’s quarter-finals.

The feat sent Flamingos’ fans into frenzy late Sunday, as many took to social media to celebrate the semi-final ticket, which brought back memories of how the squad of 2022 handled by Bankole Olowookere won bronze at that year’s competition in India.

However, even as the celebrations continued late into the night, a tough question kept recurring – will Busari’s side be able to defeat Brazil on Wednesday, after the South Americans sent highly formidable China packing 2-1 in the evening’s corresponding last-eight fixture.

A post on social media by Juliet Ogechi stated, “The Flamingos are through to the semi-finals of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026. Azeezat Oduntan scored a late penalty in the 89th minute to give Nigeria a hard-fought victory over Venezuela.

“Nigeria will now face Brazil on 4 November for a place in the final. Congratulations, Flamingos. Can Nigeria defeat Brazil and reach the final? What is your prediction?”
