The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced a change in the schedule for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026, with the tournament now set to take place from 25 July to 16 August 2026.
CAF had earlier awarded the hosting rights for the competition to Morocco in October 2024, with the tournament initially scheduled to run from 17 March to 3 April 2026.

However, following discussions between CAF, FIFA, and other key stakeholders, the African football governing body decided to adjust the dates to ensure the successful organization of the continent’s premier women’s football tournament.
According to CAF, the decision was taken in light of unforeseen circumstances, prompting the shift to a new window later in the year.
Despite the change in schedule, preparations for the championship are ongoing, with CAF and its partners expressing confidence that the tournament will be successfully staged in Morocco.
The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations remains Africa’s flagship competition for women’s national teams and serves as a key platform for showcasing the growth of women’s football across the continent.
