CAF Competitions: ANFASSC Lauds Remo Stars, Others For Decent First Leg

Reactions continue to trail the performance of Nigerian teams in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup after all four teams avoided defeat in their preliminary round first leg fixture.

The National President of the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi this Monday joined other stakeholders in giving kudos to the Nigerian Representatives.

He said “Even though the job is not complete yet, our teams were very decent, particularly Remo Stars that went to Rabat for their debut and forced ASFAR to a draw”.

“On behalf of everyone at ANFASSC, I congratulate Rivers United, Plateau United, Remo Stars and Kwara United for the spirited performance, hopefully we will have all four teams in the group stage this season”

Remo Stars held ASFAR to a 1-1 draw in Rabat while Kwara United defeated AS Douanes of Niger Republic 3-0 in Lagos.

League Champions Rivers United defeated Watanga FC of Liberia 3-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium, Port Harcourt, while Plateau United forced Stade Manji of Gabon to a 2-2 draw away from home.

ANFASSC has now charged the teams to complete the task in the second leg
