“It Was an Absolute Dream” — Omenazu Hails Super Falcons Experience, Vows to Raise Standards at MK Dons

Super Falcons newcomer Favour Omenazu has described her first experience with Nigeria’s senior women’s national team as a dream come true, revealing that training alongside established internationals has strengthened her determination to improve as a player.

The MK Dons Women captain was among the players invited to the Super Falcons squad for their 2028 Olympic qualifying fixtures against Comoros, which Nigeria won 7-0 on aggregate to advance to the next round.

Reflecting on her experience, Omenazu expressed admiration for the quality of players and the professional environment within the national team.

“I thought it was absolutely amazing. The environment as a whole was absolutely elite,” she said.

“The level of players, the calibre that we had, it was just, just to be around it, I just felt like all I was doing was learning.”

The midfielder explained that the opportunity had already made a positive impact on her development, despite the relatively short period spent with the squad.

“I felt like even coming back, I’ve grown from that experience, and it was just honestly like an absolute dream,” Omenazu stated.

The Nigerian international is now hoping to transfer the knowledge gained during the international window to her club teammates in England.

“If anything, I want to share the experience and the levels that I’ve learnt there and bring it here so we can also lift our levels together as a team,” she explained.

Omenazu’s comments underline the value of exposure to international football for emerging players seeking to establish themselves at the highest level.

The Super Falcons are scheduled to face Morocco in the next round of African qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with the two-legged tie expected in early 2027.

While hoping to earn further opportunities with Nigeria, Omenazu remains determined to help MK Dons Women improve collectively.

“So I hope we can do that and go from there,” she concluded.
