Breaking: Stanley Nwabali To Start AFCON Quarterfinal Game Against Angola

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has expressed his joy at returning to training with the team ahead of the quarterfinal clash against Angola in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Nwabali, who recently suffered an injury, mentioned that he feels better and is eager to contribute to the team’s success in the crucial match.

A reliable inside source has disclosed that Nwabali is expected to start the quarterfinal game, indicating the player’s determination and readiness to play.

The source emphasized that Nwabali’s clearance from the team’s doctor is the only remaining formality, and the coach is not willing to take any chances with his fitness.

During the team’s recent training session, Nwabali exhibited full fitness, and his determination to be on the field was evident.

Despite the coach not officially confirming the starting goalkeeper, the source suggested that if Nwabali gets the clearance from the medical team, he is likely to feature in the crucial match against Angola.

In today’s training session, Nwabali was observed as the first goalkeeper to dress up, signalling his eagerness to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup.

However, Uzoho, another goalkeeper in contention, was seen sitting with regular players, seemingly focused and determined.

Nwabali, expressing his optimism about his recovery, stated, “Yeah, I’m feeling a little bit better, but I will hear from the medical team, so I don’t know for now.”

The goalkeeper’s return would provide a significant boost to the Super Eagles’ defence as they aim to secure victory against Angola and progress further in the AFCON tournament.
