Barau FC head coach, Ladan Bosso, has rubbished rumours of his resignation, reaffirming his commitment to the club after guiding his side to a remarkable 2–1 comeback victory over Kano Pillars in their NPFL Matchday 9 clash in Kano.
Despite trailing early in the game, Barau FC displayed grit and composure to overturn the deficit — a result Bosso described as a “testament to focus and discipline” amid mounting pressure.

“For the first time, I want to give kudos to my players for coming from a goal down, leveling up, and eventually scoring the winning goal,” Bosso said after the game. “Despite the controversy and crisis, I remained resolute with my players. When we are focused, we can get things right.”
Addressing speculation about his alleged resignation over family concerns, the veteran tactician was unequivocal:
“I have never resigned and will never walk away from a team at the bottom of the league table. Doing so would mean I came to push the team down and run away. I can only resign when the team is comfortable on the log — that’s my philosophy.”
Bosso credited the victory to the team’s renewed sense of discipline and the motivation provided by club owner, Senator Barau Jibrin, who reportedly promised each player ₦150,000 for their resilience and result.
“The Senator’s message lifted the players’ spirits. None of them will go home with less than ₦150,000 for this result, and that motivation kept everyone on their toes,” Bosso revealed.
Though the match was played behind closed doors, the coach admitted the absence of supporters was felt — but insisted the performance was one the fans would have been proud of.
Looking ahead to their next fixture against Abia Warriors, Bosso expressed quiet confidence but avoided giving away tactical details.
“Abia is like my second home; I coached there for two seasons. I know what to expect, but I’ll keep our approach under wraps,” he added with a knowing smile.
