The Edo-based club released an official statement in the early hours of today to clear the air on the rumored move of their central defender to the Spanish outfit.

“Our attention has been drawn to the fake news on social media that our central defender Benjamin Tanimu has left us for a Spanish Football Club Lleida Esportiu.”

“To put the record straight, the information saying that Benjamin Tanimu has signed for Club Lleida in Spain is false and misleading. We therefore urge football lovers, Bendel Insurance, and the general public to disregard the social media reports.”

“For the avoidance of doubts, several clubs in Spain, Turkey, England, Germany, Serbia, Qatar, and Kuwait have indicated an interest in the defender but no club, including Lleida or any other club abroad, has officially tabled any deal nor reached an agreement with Bendel Insurance FC in that regard.”

“Benjamin Tanimu remains an integral part of the Bendel Insurance team and he is in cam with other members of the strong squad preparing for the CAF Confederation Cup match against RS Berkane on the 16th of this month.”

“If any deal comes through for Benjamin, we will make it known to the general public”, The statement ended as signed by the media officer of the team Kehinde Osagiede.
