Beach Soccer: NFF has paid our AFCON allowances but still owes 2017 salaries

Coach of Nigeria’s Beach soccer national team Audu Adamu has confirmed that players and coaches of Nigeria’s contingent to the recently concluded Africa Beach soccer cup of nations in Egypt have all been paid and that no one is been owed for the cup of nations outing.

In an exclusive chat with Sports247.ng the veteran coach has also called on the Nigeria Football Federation to offset outstanding allowances owed to both players and coaches which dates back to last year’s FIFA beach soccer world cup in Bahamas.

Adamu who coached the sand Eagles to a second place finish at the 2018 Beach Soccer AFCON has revealed that he is still being owed three months salaries together with the allowance for last year’s world cup in which took place in the Bahamas.

He said. “Firstly I want to confirm that everyone has been paid their allowances and bonuses for the just concluded tournament and we are happy about that but I also want to call on the authorities to help clear the backlog that is being owed us which dates back to 2017. I will be very happy if that is done.”

Some player of the team have complained of improper treatment of the squad on their way to playing the AFCON in Egypt with the team given less than two weeks to prepare for the championship and has called on the federation to create a proper training and camping schedule ahead of the 2019 World Cup in Paraguay so they can achieve a great level of success.
