Bawou Ange Admits Super Falcons’ Dominance After 2-0 Defeat In Abeokuta Friendly

Cameroon’s first-choice goalkeeper, Bawou Ange, conceded that the Super Falcons were the better side after the Indomitable Lionesses fell 2-0 to Nigeria in an international friendly match played at the M.K.O Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta.

Speaking during the post-match press conference, Ange admitted there were no excuses for the loss and praised the attacking quality and organization of the Nigerian team.

“There’s no excuse at this level of professional football,” she said. “The Super Falcons are a more attacking team, and they have quality players. We also conceded two early goals, which disrupted our game plan.”

The Super Falcons showed their attacking intent from the first whistle, scoring twice in the opening 20 minutes to set the tone for a dominant display. Despite Cameroon’s efforts to respond, the Nigerian defense held firm to keep a clean sheet.

Ange acknowledged that her side faced not just a tactical challenge but also came up against a team that was simply better on the day. “We played against a better side. They came prepared, and we have to give them credit for that,” she added.

The friendly was part of both teams’ preparations for upcoming international fixtures, with the Falcons using the opportunity to test new strategies under coach Justin Magudu

The result adds another victory to the Super Falcons’ impressive run, reaffirming their status as Africa’s most formidable women’s football team.
