Nigeria’s Ruth Imoleayo Ayodele delivered another impressive performance for Team Nigeria at the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, clinching a Silver and two Bronze medals in the women’s 63kg weightlifting category.
Ayodele began her campaign strongly with a Bronze medal in the Snatch event after lifting 95kg, before stepping up her performance in the Clean & Jerk, where she recorded a best lift of 117kg to secure Silver.

Her combined total of 212kg was enough to earn her an overall Bronze medal, narrowly missing out on Silver to Albania’s Enkileda Carja, who totaled 213kg, while Turkey’s Aysel Ozkan claimed Gold.
Her feat adds to Nigeria’s growing medal haul at the Games and highlights the nation’s continued strength in weightlifting — a sport that has consistently brought international recognition to the country.
Ayodele’s podium finishes further reinforce Nigeria’s presence among the leading nations at the Riyadh Games, with the country’s lifters once again proving their mettle on the continental stage.
