Awoniyi attracting interest from German and Italian clubs

On-loan Liverpool striker, Taiwo Awoniyi is attracting interest from German and Italian clubs following his amazing performance for Royal Excel Mouscron in Belgium, Sports247 reports.

The 21-year-old striker was loaned out to the Les Hurlus in the winter after his initial loan move to Gent in the summer ended disappointingly.

Awoniyi who joined Liverpool in 2015 after a successful FIFA U-17 World Cup in UAE where the Golden Eaglets were victorious is currently being monitored by Schalke and Lazio.

According to reports in the Mirror and German media, Liverpool will demand £10m for the Ilorin-born striker which represents a massive profit from a player they got for a fee around £400,000.

Awoniyi who has represented Nigeria in all age-grades level, apart from the Super Eagles has featured 16 times this season for his club – scoring 11 goals and providing one assist.

Royal Excel Mouscron are currently placed tenth on the Belgian Pro League with 40 points from 30 matches played.
