Atayero Backs Lagos To Host Successful Nigeria Police Games

Director of Police Sports, DCP Patrick Atayero has expressed confidence that Lagos state would host befitting and successful Nigeria Police Games scheduled to hold next month.

Atayero disclosed this at the recent closing ceremony of the Inspector General of Police Badminton tournament held in Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.

Atayero admitted that Lagos has sporting facilities that can host a memorable and colorful Nigeria Police Games without hitch. He said many police officers would be happy to showcase their God-given talents in Lagos noted that the host state is the mecca of sports as far as sporting activities are concerned in Nigeria.

“Nigeria Police Games has returned to Lagos after some years the state hosted it. I am very confident that Lagos would host successful Nigeria Police Games because the state has first-class sporting facilities that can host national and international events,” he said.

Atayero said the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has graciously released all the sporting facilities to the organizing committee and urged the participating officers to use Nigeria Police Games to promote peace, unity, love, and friendliness among themselves and shun any violence that may ruin the games.

He however thanked Governor Sanwo- Olu for his support and promised that this year’s Nigeria Police Games would live up to expectations in terms of organization.

On February 29, 2020, at exactly 12noon, the Nigeria Police 12th Biennial Games kicked off at the famous Ekwueme Square in the beautiful and serene city of Awka, the Anambra State capital.
