ASM Scouting Tournament Kicks Off in Abeokuta as Director Ayodeji Adeniran Sets Clear Vision for Talent Discovery

The 2025 edition of the Ade Sports Management (ASM) Scouting Tournament opened on a bright note Tuesday, 18th November 2025, at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State, unveiling some of Nigeria’s most exciting young football prospects.

From the first whistle, the event delivered high-intensity action as pre-selected players—pooled into six balanced teams—competed fiercely for the attention of top scouts. The opening day justified the tournament’s growing reputation, producing 31 players shortlisted for further evaluation, a number organizers say reflects the impressive quality on display.

Tournament Director, Ayodeji Adeniran, highlighted that the selection process leading up to the tournament was rooted in a structured and credible scouting network. According to him, ASM relied on a blend of strategic partnerships and trusted grassroots channels.

“Players were pre-selected through coaches and scouts we are in partnership with, either from our academy directly or affiliated academies across Abuja, Kaduna, Enugu, and other regions,” Adeniran explained. “Some were recommended by trusted coaches who know them personally, while others were discovered by our scouts at local tournaments and showcases.”

This year’s programme is themed “One Gem, One Talent,” a philosophy Adeniran says captures ASM’s mission: to uncover exceptional ability while also creating pathways for a wider pool of emerging players.

“Just one exceptional talent can justify a whole programme,” he said. “But we believe there are many promising players. With two more days to go, we expect to scout even more talents and give the selected boys additional chances to prove themselves. We’re grateful to God and pleased with the effort the players have shown.”

Adeniran emphasized that scouts at the tournament are searching for a complete player—one who demonstrates strong physical attributes, technical skill, and mental sharpness.

With two days left, anticipation continues to build, as more young footballers look to seize their moment and possibly secure a pathway to professional opportunities through ASM’s expanding talent pipeline.
