The two-day programme, aimed at young footballers aged 9–16, will be delivered through Plumptre’s foundation in collaboration with coaches from Al Ittihad.

The camp is designed to provide structured football development, helping participants sharpen their technical skills, understand their individual strengths, and build strong team relationships in a professional learning environment.

Speaking through the announcement, Plumptre described the project as a passion-driven effort to give back to grassroots football in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, where she has strong personal and professional ties as a key member of the Super Falcons.

Beyond on-field training, the initiative places a strong emphasis on player welfare and education. In partnership with Mission 89, participants will receive critical education on safety in sport, including awareness around the dangers of sports trafficking and exploitation.

The sessions are intended to equip young athletes with the knowledge needed to protect their careers and futures as they pursue football pathways.

The camp will be limited to 100 participants per day, ensuring focused coaching and individual attention. While the exact venue in Lagos is yet to be announced, registration will be conducted via QR codes provided on the official campaign post, with each day requiring separate registration.

Plumptre’s initiative adds to growing efforts by Nigerian internationals to invest in grassroots development, reinforcing the importance of combining football training with education, safeguarding, and long-term athlete welfare.
