The Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 Phase 2 commences in the bustling city of Lagos.

Arrival procedures are underway as 22 teams, comprising 12 male teams and 10 female teams, alongside officials, navigate their way into Lagos, commencing Monday, November 13, 2023.

The pulse of the league will resonate across two iconic venues: the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Institute of Sports (NIS), National Stadium, Surulere, and the outdoor handball court at the Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba, Lagos.

Hostilities are scheduled to commence on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

Preparations kick off with a strategic technical meeting at the NIS Indoor Sports Hall.

Here, coaches, officials, including referees and members of the technical and organizing committee, will delve into the league’s rules, setting the tone for the upcoming contests.

Sharp at 7 am on Tuesday morning, action will unfold at the designated centres, echoing the anticipation and excitement of handball enthusiasts.

Teams are primed and ready, especially after a gripping Phase 1 in Benin City, Edo State, where Niger United and Safety Babes emerged as league leaders in the men and women categories.

In the women’s category, Rima Queens of Sokoto, securing the third spot with 23 points, confront Bayelsa Queens, seated 8th on the log with 13 points.

Meanwhile, Safety Babes, defending champions and league leaders, engage in the Abuja derby against city rivals Defender Babes in a compelling match.

Moving to the men’s category, Niger United, the reigning champions and league leaders, prepare to face Correction Boys, presently positioned 10th on the table with 16 points.

The defending champions, Kano Pillars, endeavour to reshape their narrative, facing Rima Strikers.

As the handball saga unfolds, Bendel Dynamos, occupying the bottom spot, faces Police Machine, while Tojemarine Academy, placed second on the table, locks horns with second-placed Safety Shooters in a finale that promises intensity.

The Ardova Handball Premier league 2023 phase 2 receives a significant boost with a title sponsorship, promising increased preparatory subsidies of 500,000 naira for each of the 22 participating teams.

Additionally, the victors stand to claim a substantial prize money of 2.5 million naira, contributing to the league’s ever-growing stature.
