Anyansi-Agwu: Enyimba Will Surprise Raja Casablanca

Enyimba of Aba chairman, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu has predicted that his side will surprise all their critics and their hosts, Raja Casablanca of Morocco in the second leg of their 2018 CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals fixture.

Though his team lost the first leg 1-0 at home in Aba, Anyansi-Agwu insists the battle is not over and stressed that The Peoples’ Elephant will turn the table during Wednesday’s reverse fixture in Morocco.

While citing examples of when the club and other top teams across the world bounced back when written off, Anyansi-Agwu said the former African champions have what it takes to defy the odds and book a place in the final.

Anyansi-Agwu is not leaving any stones unturned, as he personally addressed the players over the need for a better outing in Casablanca, and charged the team to write their names in gold.

“In football, it is never over until it is over. I know that a lot of people have written you off after we lost in Aba, but this is the semifinal where nothing is decided until the second leg is played.

“The match in Aba was just like the first half, so we are going to Casablanca for the second half. I have not given up and I don’t want you to give up.

“I want you to see this as an opportunity to write your names in gold because the whole world will be amazed if we are able to do it. This is not the first time that we’ve been in this situation.

“I remember when we won the Champions League in 2004, we had a bad result against Petro Atletico here in Aba but went over there to beat them.

“That same year in the semifinal, we were able to beat Esperance in front of their home fans. These are some of the reasons I haven’t given up,” Anyansi-Agwu said.
