Anthony Joshua’s Business Empire’s Net Worth Escalates To £166m, Minus Earnings From Boxing

Startling financial information out of England has revealed a mammoth business net worth of £166m for Nigerian-born former two-time heavweight boxing champion of the world, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua, but most of the money did not come from his exploits in the ring, Sports247 reports.

Amazingly, even as Joshua gets ready to take on Kristian Prenga of Albania next weekend in his first fight after survinging a fatal accident in Sagamu, Ogun State on December 29th, the London 2012 Olympic Games gold medalist will not rely on any earnings to incrrase his riches.

Rather than bank on boxing alone to shore up his earnings, Joshua floated a business venture known as Sparta Promotions Limited, through which he has reportedly enmeshed an enormous accumulation of wealth that has shot him high up on the scales of boxing’s richest stars.

Another stunning fact from Joshua’s wealthy status is that he has never shied away from paying his taxes, with the latest survey of the boxer’s net worth revealing that he paid a whopping £10m in corporation tax, which is apart from the huge amount he doled out in the USA after his fight with Jake Paul.

A report by UK’s Sun Sport revealed, “Joshua has amassed an astonishing £166m fortune – but he didn’t pay himself a penny. The former world champ’s parent company, Sparta Promotions Ltd, achieved a £41.5m turnover last year. After expenses, its pre-tax profit was £35.7m.

“The figures also reveal his business is now worth a whopping £166,066,351. That was compared to £10.1m the previous financial year. It also shows £10m paid in corporation tax. The accounts pre-date the car crash in Nigeria last December that killed two of his closest friends.”

Sports247 gathered further that, when boxing earnings are added to Joshua’s fortune, a survey in the Sunday Times Rich List revealed that he is the wealthiest active boxer in the United Kingdom, surpassing rivals like Tyson Fury and Lennox Lewis, with a total fortune that is estimated at £240m (approximately $320 m).

Joshua tops fellow British heavyweight, Tyson Fury, whose net worth is estimated at £162m ($216m), and the Nigerian-born former champ is even rated as Britain’s richest Black person aged under 40, though a huge part of his net worth has come from outside the boxing ring.

A post on instagram by thenumbersgame1 added, “From a £100m+ commercial property portfolio and residential investments, to stakes in DAZN, Formula 1 and padel, AJ has quietly built one of the UK’s most impressive athlete investment portfolios.”

Sports247 also learnt that Joshua holds a massive financial base of property investments that include residential and corporate buildings valued at well over £100m, among which is a sprawling complex in Hertfordshire, which used to be the headquarters of British Petroleum (BP).
