Nigeria’s sprint hurdler, Tobi Amusan, returned to the top of the podium in style on Tuesday, clinching gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Ostrava Golden Spike meet in the Czech Republic.

The reigning African and Commonwealth champion clocked an impressive 12.45s to secure a commanding win, finishing well ahead of her rivals. Slovakia’s Viktória Forster placed second in 12.74s, while Ireland’s Sarah Lavin followed closely in third with 12.76s. Both recorded Season’s Bests in a race clearly dominated by Amusan.
The victory comes just weeks after Amusan ran her second-fastest time of 12.24s in Paris, as she builds momentum ahead of the 2028 Olympics.
With her recent performances, the 2022 World Champion is reinforcing her credentials as one of the leading contenders for Olympic gold and is gradually finding her championship rhythm at the right time.
Amusan’s win in Ostrava is her second major victory in Europe this season and serves as a strong statement to her global rivals ahead of a stacked summer of athletics.
