The Nigeria Minifootball Association (NMA) has appointed Amarachi Vivian Emmanuel, current head coach of Sunshine Stars/Queens U-17 and U-15 sides, as the new handler of the Nigeria Women’s Minifootball Team, marking a significant boost for the nation’s technical development in the women’s game.
Emmanuel, one of the fast-rising coaches in the country’s grassroots pathway, brings a solid blend of technical knowledge and leadership experience to the role.

She holds a CAF C Coaching License (Women’s Exclusive Course) from the Nigeria Football Federation, a Basic Coaching Certificate from the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Lagos, and a Diploma in Sports Science Technology. She also participated in the Rio London University Transpersonal Leadership Philosophy Seminar in 2022.
Her appointment was confirmed in an official letter signed by NMA Secretary General Paul Maduakar, obtained by Sporting Hope. The association praised her “proven technical expertise, leadership qualities, and consistent contribution to the growth and development of women’s minifootball in Nigeria.”
According to the letter, Emmanuel will be responsible for providing strategic direction, overseeing player development, coordinating training programmes, and ensuring the national team’s preparedness for domestic and international competitions. Her tenure begins immediately upon acceptance, with a mandate to work closely with the association’s Technical Department.
The NMA added that further details regarding her operational structure and expectations will be issued by the Technical Director, while reaffirming full confidence in her ability to lead the team with professionalism, discipline, and commitment.
Emmanuel’s appointment signals a renewed push by the federation to elevate the women’s minifootball landscape and strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness on the global stage.
