Following Abia Warriors’ first-ever qualification for a CAF continental competition, head coach Imama Amapakabo has pledged to begin intensive preparations immediately.
The milestone achievement comes after a strong domestic campaign, and the coach insists there is no time for celebration.

“There’s no complete team universally. Every team wants to have an addition here and there,” Amapakabo said.
“We’ll be playing on a different stage completely from what we are used to here. There will be some additions to the team, definitely.
The preparation for that competition starts immediately. We can’t relax now. It is time for serious work. We worked hard to get to where we are.”
Amapakabo confirmed that the club’s management is already identifying areas for reinforcement ahead of their continental debut.
With a clear understanding that the level of competition will rise, the coach emphasized the need for strategic signings and rigorous training.
As Abia Warriors prepare to face Africa’s elite clubs, Amapakabo’s commitment to early planning and squad strengthening aims to ensure the team makes a statement in their inaugural CAF campaign.
