Allswell Bassey Wins WAF National Scrabble Tournament, As Akwa Ibom Tops Scrabble League After Match Day 1

National Under 11 Winifred Awosika Scrabble Tournament for Schools came with good fortune for Akwa Ibom Children as 10 year-old Allswell Bassey emerged champion.

Allswell Bassey represented the South-South Zone along with Prestige Mfoniso Archibong and Soibifaa Jaja at the just concluded WAF National Scrabble Tournament for Schools at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

The event which saw over 50 kids from over 30 schools around the country produced stunning displays as Bassey stole the show to come out tops out of the six zones represented.

Meanwhile, the seniors were not left out as a team of 13 led by Akwa Ibom Scrabbles Coach Moses Peter took part in the just concluded MSPL Scrabble League in Lagos.

The tournament served as preparation for the forthcoming National Sports Festival in which the athletes gave good account of themselves.

National Champion Peters at the Masters category had 10 wins with a spread of 611 in Division A while Nsidibe Frank had 8 wins to place 3rd in Division B.

The seniors finished strong in match day 1 as they are currently topping the table with match day 2 to be played in Abuja come April 2020.
