Aliu Advocates ‘Talents Refinery’ For Nigeria

Nigerian former sprinter, Deji Aliu has advocated a situation whereby Nigeria’s has a ‘refinery of talents,’ where future sports stars would be spotted to make the country proud in years to come.

Aliu lamented in an interview with sports247.ng that the biggest problem Nigeria is facing in the search for international sports glory is that young athletes are not being churned out as before.

He shot a look back at his days and years before, during which he said new talents kept rolling out on a regularly basis, but the reverse is now the case for the country.

Aliu added: “The country lacks the refinery to refine raw talents spread across the land to make them world champions.
“The nation is blessed with abundant talents but they are unfortunately wasting away due to a lack of a deliberate program to make them world beaters.”
