Nigerian sprint sensation Alaba Akintola continued his impressive form on the track, clinching victory in the men’s 200m event at the Music City Challenge held in Tennessee, USA.
Akintola blazed to the finish line in a time of 20.50 seconds (+0.9 m/s), comfortably edging out American duo Antonio Lay, who clocked 20.64s, and John Sherman, who finished in 20.72s.
His performance not only secured top honours in the half-lap event but also further reinforced his status as one of Nigeria’s most consistent performers on the international sprint circuit.
In the 100m, Akintola showed his range by advancing from the first round with a time of 10.30 seconds (+1.3 m/s), before going on to place third in the final.
The outing marks another strong performance for the Nigerian sprinter as he continues to build momentum ahead of major international competitions.
