Akwa United: Losing to heartland was not an option

Last week Sunday Akwa United FC had played a home match against Heartland FC after losing it previous away match to Kano Pillars by 2 goals.

Kennedy Boboye the coach of Akwa United explained that there was no room to lose because the squad had been revamped with the signing of three new players into the team and a better team structure.

The new players that were recently signed are Ndah Oliseh, Ifeanyi Eze and Chiwendu Ali.

Ndah who was most recently playing for Remo Stars F.C. was transferred to Akwa United last week before Akwa’s home match. Ndah Oliseh also made his debut in Akwa United on Sunday during its home match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (Nest of Champion), Uyo. Ndah is also said to be managed by Ojo Paul Omamomo.

During an interview with Sports247 Boboye said “The last two games we lost, we did so woefully and it has caused us some setbacks in the league so we’re just trying to recover lost time which this victory (over Heartland) sets us on that path,” Boboye concluded.
