Akwa United Chairman, Supporters Club Renew Bond Ahead of Promotion Push

Chairman of Akwa United Football Club, Mr. Joseph Eno, has reaffirmed his commitment to guiding the club back to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), following a solidarity visit by the club’s Supporters Club on Friday in Uyo.

The courtesy call, the first since the inauguration of the new management team, was led by Prince Imaikop Sunday, Chairman of the Supporters Club Electoral Committee. He conveyed the goodwill of members and pledged “unalloyed support” to the management as the team embarks on its 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign.

The supporters recalled their journey since 1997, reliving memories of the club’s Federation Cup triumphs and the historic NPFL title in 2021, while assuring the new board of their readiness to stand by the team in its mission to regain topflight status.

In his response, Mr. Eno described the visit as a morale booster, vowing that discipline and passion would drive Akwa United’s return to the elite league.

“We know our mission, we know our target, and we don’t have a choice than to take Akwa United back to the Premier League,” he said, stressing that success would only come through unity between the team, management, and fans.

The chairman, flanked by members of his board, pledged continued collaboration with the supporters, insisting that “success is on the way for Akwa United FC.”
