Sevilla of Spain striker, Akor Adams brought relief to his new coach at the weekend, after netting a match-winner for the relegation threatened side, Sports247 reports.
Adams’ gaffer, Luis Garcia Plaza thanked the in-form attacker for his effort, as his sizzler helped the team seal a 2-1 victory over Espanyol on Saturday night.
Adams’ goal during the Liga encounter at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium boosted his club’s hope of avoiding relegation, and the Super Eagles’ star was singled out for praise.
Much to Plaza’s delight, Adams got off Sevilla’s bench to score the decisive goal, which earned him praise from the coach, who hailed the attacker’s impact during the gaffer’s sixth game in charge.
Plaza disclosed, “I really celebrated Akor’s goal. I’ve only been here six games, but I really empathize with the team. The bench came out to celebrate, and that’s very important.
“You can’t stop believing. The first half was poor, but then we were more clinical. The fans here are absolutely insane, the atmosphere they create is incredible.
“I think it’s difficult to lose at home, but with 40 points you’re not safe. We have to keep going. Let’s focus on Villarreal to continue this momentum, try to get some points, and if we win, even better.”
Sports247 reports further that Akor now has nine goals and three assists in 29 La Liga appearances in what has been a very turbulent season for Los Rojiblancos.
